Now is the time to join the Computer Society

It's the last week to take advantage of half-year membership pricing. Join this week so you can vote in the election for the local chapter's officers the first week in December or run for office yourself!

Don't forget we have a technical meeting today.
The Aug. 14th Computer Society Tech Talk is at The Box Jelly with HiCapacity.org.
We are joining forces with HiCapacity for this event.
We'll gather at 6pm today and all IEEE members are welcome.
Come check out the cool new Box Jelly and the HiCapacity maker-space!
Learn how to program an LED light strip! This particular LED strip is individually addressable and can make 4 million different colors. If you haven’t seen it in person, it is really impressive! The talk will discuss how to do different cool effects on the LED strip and incorporate data from sensors. We will go over some basic Arduino programming as well to help you get on running quickly. This is the LED strip that we will be using. You do not need to buy one, we will have several there to play with although you may need to share them. If you have an Arduino and/or a laptop please bring them! http://adafruit.com/products/306
